My belated condolences to the Poon family. Pastor Poon was a very godly man and will be missed, but he is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I remember after our church service at the San Gabriel Valley Chinese Alliance Church we would go to a church plant in Oxnard to minister there, and I also remember back in the late 80s, my twin brother and I stayed with him in Hong Kong before entering into China for our short-term missions trip. James, John, Christina, and Mrs. Poon, my prayers her with you.

My deepest condolences and prayers to the Poon Family. Rev Poon is deeply missed. I will see you in Heaven again some day.

I thank the Lord for blessing me with having such a wonderful, gentle, patient, and lovely Uncle. He will live in my heart and spirit until we are reunited in Heaven. He has left such a wonderful legacy to his children and to all he preached, to spread the Good News and an example of how it is to live the life of a disciple.His children have indeed followed the great commandment to make disciples of all nations. His witness to God, I know, fell upon many ears and opened up many a heart by the message he preached. I give all praise, thanks and glory to God for his ministry. I will miss you terribly Uncle Luke. God bless all my family, especially my Aunt Lisa, Christina, Larry, James, Risa, John, Carolyn and all his beloved grandchildren and Uncle Luke's family and to all who knew and loved him. May all find comfort and strength from our Lord Jesus Christ. I cherish all the memories I have of times when we have all been together as a family, even though there is an ocean between us. Uncle Luke was strong and steadfast in faith and finished the race. I know that Uncle Luke lives in the eternal presence of our Saviour Jesus Christ and I also know from the bottom of my heart that God has received him with the words; Good and Faithful Servant. He loved God above all else and has encouraged us to do the same. The memorial service was beautiful and fitting for a man who bore witness to Jesus for the whole of his life. Uncle Luke blessed everyone he met, with same love that Jesus bestowed upon him and Thank you to all those who made it possible the service together so beautifully. All my love to the Poon and Wee family.

Pastor Luke Poon and I met many years ago in Canada, but I came to know him over the past 4 or 5 years in New Jersey. He taught and modeled for me how to serve God faithfully, even after retirement age. We was a man of experience and wisdom. We enjoyed a number of meals together and he preached at the church I lead. I remember him as a pastor who was favored with respect and success, but regarded loving Jesus as primary. I remember him as a pastor who mentored many, but saw his family as his first commitment.
Rev. Dr. Luke Poon left a rich legacy and will be missed. To Mrs. Poon and the family, may the God of all comfort be your strength and encouragement. The memorial service was a great tribute. In the language of Psalm 116:15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord, Is the death of His saints."

Pastor Poon took me in during a very dark time in my life. He welcomed me with the love of Jesus and I really began to have a taste of what full time ministry was like through him. He made me feel like family the times we were together in Hong Kong and at Peninsula Chinese Church. He took a chance on letting me serve the youth as he planted, and it has become 18 years and counting of being a missionary with Cru. I will miss you Pastor Poon.

Thank you to all the Poon and Wee family, friends and loved ones who orchestrated the live streaming of this beautiful memorial service to Rev. Dr. Luke Poon. Jesus truly shone through his life, in ministry and family life. His legacy has been passed over to those who remain to spread the word of the Gospel.
Luke was a true example of what it was to be a servant of Jesus Christ and know that this is not the end, but the beginning for him as he sits in the eternal presence of Our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Reverend Poon was a powerful man of God. To say his impact on my spiritual walk with Jesus Christ is an understatement. Jesus was the name he said the most, and through that passion for his Lord he was able to touch many people. His influence was international as he preached what God says in the book of Corinthians “the simplicity of Christ”. He was a man of powerful words, but more importantly a man of great action, as any man can come up with reasons for slowing down, he had none, he was faithful to the end and just as he said prayed over our church on his last Sunday before meeting the one he spoke about in every conversation. Jesus Christ.

Rev. Dr Luke Poon had been a model for ministry and blessed father raising all three children to serve, stand and preach the gospel. He has left a legacy worth following by the ministers and church leaders as they serve God. He was such a dear "Uncle" for me too when I visited him in San Francisco in the year 2000 with dear "brother" James for Thanksgiving. I was moved from his humility, care and concern. Dear Mrs Poon, James, John and rest of the family. Its my humble reminder that our promise keeping God is with you all throughout your life. The true tribute to Rev. Poon would be to follow his life and foot steps to live and serve God as he did throughout his life. May the peace of the Spirit of God remain with you all forever. Amen.

We will always remember the good times we had with Rev. Dr. Luke Poon at CTS (Canadian Theological Seminary) in Regina, Canada many years ago. He was always a diligent student, very humble & friendly even though he had many years of pastoral ministry experience already at that time, he gave us a lot of encouragement especially we as the single students, he invited us to his home for meals. Most important, he was zealous to share the gospel.

我認識的潘士端牧師是一位十分聰明並且思想反應很快的人。我在加拿大神學院的時候，他常與我玩對聯的比試。有一次，我出了一句很怪的上句，我想他也得要用一、兩天才對得出來。不料他不到十分鐘就對好了，並且十分完美。
我對題是以端午節為意景，上句是：龍宮扒龍船，船杖失誤插穿龍船底，sir～船沉！【這對聯的難處是帶有粵語及英語的拼音作壓韻。】潘牧師以當日雷城街上意景回應，他的下句是：雪地賽雪車，雪呔不慎坎中雪車頭，bang～車禍！
願神賜給潘士端牧師的智慧，加倍賜給他的後人。啊們！

I remember Pastor Poon as someone who lived his life well, in humility and goodness, in service to the Lord and His people. He baptized my mother, my sisters and me. He was a friend and mentor to my parents. I recognize the lasting impact of his gentleness and strong biblical teaching on us, and I'll always be grateful to him and Mrs. Poon for their pivotal role in my family's faith journey.

I take comfort knowing Pastor Poon has completed everything assigned for him to do and now rests and rejoices with our Father in heaven. I feel assured knowing we will all be reunited one day. Sending our deepest condolences to Mrs. Poon, Christina, James, John, and the rest of Pastor Poon's family.

Dear Mrs. Poon, James, Christina, and John,

Rev. Poon baptized and discipled me 30+ years ago at San Gabriel Valley Chinese Alliance Church. His love for God and God's people made a lasting positive impact on my growth as a young Christian. I can still remember his encouraging words and heart-warming smiles at our Bible studies as if they were yesterday.

Yesterday, my family was visiting my dad's grave. As we were grieving and missing my dad, a saxophone began playing "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" at a funeral nearby. We felt God used this hymn to comfort us. May God also uses it to comfort you. ️

Today my wife, mother-in-law, and I would like to pay tribute to Rev Luke Poon. The first thing I remembered about Pastor Poon was his warm and friendly personality. Getting to know him allowed me to see some of his Christian virtues. He was a lover of our savior Jesus Christ and a lover of people. He was zealous about spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Poon was a giving person, always caring about other people's needs and anxious to help. In the short period of time I knew him, I saw that his number one priority was his compulsion to spread the gospel all over the world. He would carry back reports from the mission field about the churches that needed help and he helped to the best of his ability. Pastor Poon was a skilled man in the word of God, but he never comes across as an arrogant person, but more humble and gentle. He was very instrumental in the growth of our small church, Valley Community Church, overseen by His son Pastor James Poon. I know He is with the Lord and will be rewarded by Jesus with the inheritance stored up for the saints according to the faithful word of God. May the Lord comfort his family, especially his wife Mrs. Poon, and two sons with the comfort only He can give.

We have vivid and loving memories of how Rev. and Mrs. Poon literally walked with our parents till the end of their journeys! They were more than spiritual mentors, but truly caring friends to our family. Mom enjoyed so much their morning walks together, and felt refreshed in their company as they shared and fellowshipped. After our mom's passing, whenever our dad felt lost or was in a dilemma, he would call on Rev Poon for support and advice to help him in his time of loss. He always looked forward to words of wisdom from Rev. Poon, and looked upon him as a pillar of strength. The prayer time, the Bible studies, as well as the meals and outings, the fun and laughter………it was a wondrous relationship bonded by the love of God.

We are sure Rev Poon will have so much to share as he reunites with our parents as well as his loved ones now in heaven. We know that he is in the hearts of all of us, as memories of love live on forever! Our deepest condolences to the family and may the peace of God and the hope that we have in Christ anchor you during this trying time.

Stephen & I are saddened by the sudden passing of 潘牧師 who was our beloved Reverend Poon since 1971. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family, especially with 師母.
Ever since learning that 潘牧師 is with the Lord now, we have been reminiscing over precious memories of his dedication in serving the Lord, his love and concern for church members, and how he always put Christ and others before his own needs. He was the kindest minister we ever knew, and his heart of gold was unmatched.

潘牧師 set a great example for us. He followed Christ Jesus with all his heart, mind and soul and he practiced what he preached. His actions spoke the words of God.
We were blessed by learning to serve the Lord under his leadership, for which we are forever grateful. We shall miss him dearly.

Pastors are very busy after church services, and Rev Poon was no exception. But, after church services in Hong Kong, whenever Rev Poon saw me, he would always stop what he was doing, come over to me, flash a warm smile and chat with me. Talking with me, he would never look at his watch and always listened intently and offered encouragement. I cherished these moments and took them to heart. As I moved up in the academic community, Rev Poon's example of humility and service stuck with me. It was a reminder to do likewise to whomever might be hanging out in the hallways or parking lots like I did in those early years. Rev Poon, I miss you and thank you for taking the time to minister to the young awkward guy that I was (and often still am) in Hong Kong.

Rev. Poon has left me a strong impression of having a clear and strong voice with a cheerful face. Besides, he is really compassionate about preaching and teaching.  I know he has always been a loving and tender husband. He paid massive effort to take care of your injured left arm. He even learned massage from Horace to relieve your neck pain.

Mrs Poon, it must be really tough to lose your loved one. I stand by you in this moment to grieve, to share the tears, to share the sweet memories and share your love story.

I still remember the time when Rev. Poon was serving at our church. He was always firm on his faith, but gentle and cheerful to everyone. A respected pastor and a friend to all of us.

Dear Mrs Poon 潘師母, Rev. John Poon & Family,

Please accept my condolences to all of you! Rev. Luke Poon was our first Pastor of Burnaby Alliance Church. He had laid a good foundation to our church and set a great example to our brothers and sisters. We are grateful that Rev. Poon and Mrs Poon attended our church's 35th Anniversary 5 years ago. he was such a humble and faithful servant of God.
